OFF-GRID
Over the last few years we've received numerous inquiries to design off-grid PV solar systems for cottages and structures that require electricity on a daily basis, but to bring hydro to those structures is simply too expensive. During the year 2011 prices of the solar panels have dropped by 40%! PV solar systems are now a lot more affordable and have a reasonable buy back time.
Off-grid PV solar system is the best available solution for remote locations where electrical power is needed.

DIY OFF-GRID PACKAGES
DIY off-grid package comes with a soalr panel, charge controller, 12V battery, DC disconnect and wires. Smallest DIY off-grid packages can provide electrical power for a TV, Laptop, DVD player, or even a small fridge. One 12V battery fully charged is enough to power up to 12 fluorescent lights for over a week.
If you have a cottage and have power shortages, you can use a DIY off-grid PV solar system as a backup power generator.
NOTE: Cottage, which is visited once per week and the length of the visit is less than 3 days, can be equipped with a single solar panel and 3-4 batteries. This will alllow you to have more power when you need it. In case the power is required on daily basis, but in smaller portions, single solar panel and a single battery should be enough. All "DIY off-grid packages" can be up sized to provide you needed power consumption at any time. So start small, you can always add more batteries and solar panels.
